Ocha-Maro Karakuri is a unique character in the Samurai Shodown series, debuting in Samurai Shodown VI. He is a wooden puppet, designed with the concept of "endless power", giving him a distinctive fighting style. In the backstory, he was originally part of a puppet army created by a famous onmyoji during the Heian era to combat the demon world. During peacetime, these puppets would perform Shinto dances for the gods on the stage of the Tenkaku Theater. A century ago, when Mizuki and her demon awoke, the puppet army and Buddhist monks went to Mount Osore to seal her, but most of the puppets and men were lost. Only Ocha-Maro Karakuri was undamaged when he awoke before Samurai Shodown VI, and upon learning of the deaths of his friends, Mizuki's breaking of the seal, and the rise of demon activity, he embarked on a path as a warrior to fight demons. Ocha-Maro has no true personality but shows respect to his creator. His fighting style combines the use of his puppet body and iron rings and is known for his unique moves and techniques. He is voiced by Mayumi Shindou.
