Shin Gaoh, also known as Gaoh, is a character from the Samurai Shodown (Samurai Spirits) series, first appearing as the final boss in Samurai Shodown V. He is not a traditional samurai but rather the lord of the Wicked Country Hinowa, known as "Kyōgoku Hinowa no Kami Gaō." Although he appears and acts like a villainous lord, he harbors a deep resolve to fight for the greater good, albeit in an extreme manner. Gaoh's design was inspired by Oda Nobunaga, a daimyo from Japan's Sengoku period. His signature weapon is a jumonji spear, which grants him an incredibly long reach and high damage output. In some versions, when his Rage Gauge is full, he can transform into Kuraki-sumeragi, an evil entity that once possessed Yunfei. His backstory ties into the overall timeline of the Samurai Shodown series, making him a key figure in the plot. Despite being the final boss in Samurai Shodown V, he later became a playable character in some subsequent titles.
