Angelica

Angelica (アンジェリカ) is a character from the Samurai Shodown (サムライスピリッツ) series, first appearing in Samurai Shodown Sen. She was raised as an assassin by an unknown organization. After attempting to flee, she was allowed to live but was given two missions to ensure her safety and possible freedom: to retrieve Suzu and a treasured sword, and to find a worthy samurai successor for their leader. While she obeys, she is reluctant to leave her leader's side. Her story reveals that her employer is Golba, who staged an accident that resulted in her and her sister's near-death. One survived but lost her memories. Upon regaining her memories, she exhibits split personalities: one of herself and one of her deceased sister. In her ending, the surviving sister turns against Golba, seeking revenge for both of them. Both souls live on as "Angelica". Angelica is a stoic and melancholic woman focused on her missions. It is implied that one of the sisters is a pacifist, while the other is more inclined to use violence. Her fighting style is characterized by fast combo chains and short-range attacks, with quick recovery times. She can twirl her weapon with one hand to juggle opponents.
