VALORANT is a free-to-play first-person tactical shooter developed and published by Riot Games. Announced on October 15, 2019 under the codename "Project A," it was officially revealed as VALORANT on March 2, 2020, and released for PC on June 2, 2020. The game is set on a near-future Earth, following an event called "First Light" that granted some individuals hypernatural abilities, known as Radiants. The VALORANT Protocol, a shadow organization, was formed in response, bringing together Radiants and others with Radiant technology from around the world to tackle various global threats. VALORANT blends precise gunplay with unique agent abilities. Each agent possesses a distinct set of abilities, requiring players to strategically use them in coordination with their team to secure victory. The game features a 5v5 format, with attackers and defenders vying to win 13 rounds. There are multiple game modes, including unranked, ranked, and team deathmatch. Players can use in-game currency to buy weapons, armor, and abilities, as well as cosmetic items to personalize their characters and overall experience. Since its release, VALORANT has quickly become a popular competitive shooter, boasting a large player base and a thriving esports scene.
